Mixed 2 travelled to Mundella looking to maintain their good start to the season with 3 more scratch pairings.
They were greeted with the news that the opposition only had 2 pairs meaning a 3-0 advantage before a shuttle was hit. However, this advantage was soon threatened, playing with the dreaded plastics, as Jed/Elaine & Pete/Vicky were unable to capitalise on good positions & lost their opening rubbers. Tom/Anisa then restored the 2 rubber advantage with a fine victory in their debut mixed league match. However, the next 2 rubbers were both lost meaning the scores were tied at 4-4 with 1 rubber remaining. Tom/Anisa lost the 1st end but stormed back brilliantly to take the next 2 both to 15 meaning a 5-4 victory. A brilliant performance from this pair which can only bode well for the future. The next match is home to Melton OG on 21st November. |
