The 2015/16 season has come to an end and the final League tables have been released. Let’s take a look at the final standings for our teams. Ladies
Division 3 | W4 L8 It's been a long and difficult season for the Ladies team. The team lost a number of key players before the start of the season, due injury or other commitments, and never fully recovered. A number of matches had to be conceded due a lack of available players. Caroline, the team captain, has struggled with her knee for most of the season and underwent surgery towards the end of April; we wish her well in her recovery. Here’s to a healthy and prosperous 2016/17 season for the Ladies team. Ladies Division Report - 8 May 2016 (PDF) Mens 1 Division 4a | W7 L3 The Mens 1 team have finished as runners up this season and just miss out on promotion. A few months into the season it became clear that Meltonshire and Central Leicester would be the teams to beat. Unfortunately, Mens 1 lost both home and away matches to Meltonshire, but as the season progressed, promotion was still possible if they could beat Central Leicester in the final two matches. It was not to be however, as Mens 1 were beaten at home, losing 4-5 in a closely contested match. The result was reversed in the away fixture, but it was all too little, too late as Central were already crowned champions. Mens 2 Division 6b | W8 L0 The Mens 2 team has been promoted, with an unbeaten record no less. The Mens 2 team included many new members to the club, including Trevor, who took the captaincy role and guided the team to promotion. Well done, team. Mens Division Report - 8 May 2016 (PDF) Mixed 1 Division 4 | W0 L8 The Mixed 1 team has been relegated. The team struggled to compete in division 4 and didn't quite have the strength in depth to challenge the other teams. The only remaining match after the midseason update was the home fixture against Huncote. Unfortunately, due to a lack of available players, the match was conceded and Mixed 1 were the denied the chance to restore some pride. Commiserations, Mixed 1, come back fighting next season. Mixed 2 Division 4 | W6 L2 The Mixed 2 team has been promoted and will be playing in division 3 next season. After winning their first six matches, the team was looking odds on for promotion with two matches left. However, losses to Huncote and South Leicestershire in the final matches put the champagne on ice. It was still possible for South Leicestershire to catch Mixed 2 if they won all of their remaining matches. A dispirited Henri, the team captain, was left to bite his fingernails for a couple of months before it was confirmed that Mixed 2 had been promoted. Well done to the team for an excellent achievement. Mixed Division Report - 8 May 2016 (PDF) New Hall Division 2 | W4 L3 D1 The New Hall team has achieved its goal of staying in division 2. Well done to everyone who has represented the team this season. Here's to another successful season in 2016/17. New Hall Division Report - 8 May 2016 (PDF) Comments are closed.
